FAQ's

Sometimes I feel like my shoulders are up in my ears. Can massage help this?
Yes, absolutely. Hyper-irritable spots have developed in your upper traps (on top of your shoulders.) The muscles become very irritable due to a variety of reasons, computer work, sleeping position, talking with the phone between your chin and shoulder.... Deep tissue massage is very effective in breaking the cycle that is keeping those muscles tight and painful. Many clients say that these techniques "hurt good."

I get headaches sometimes that nothing seems to help. What can I do?
Tight muscles in the neck, back and shoulders can cause headaches. Depending on where you feel the pain, it is possible to pinpoint which muscles are involved. When the tension is taken out of those muscles and those in the surrounding area, relief is usually felt right away.

I have pain in my low back and hips and it seems to radiate down my leg. I'm tired of taking pain relievers.

For this situation I would suggest a combination of Hot Stone and Deep Tissue Massage. The deep, penetrating heat of the hot stones warms the muscles of the lower back and glutes. The deep tissue massage than works out the tension that those muscles have been holding. I follow this with a good stretching session on the back, legs and hips to get some length back in the muscles and ensure that the relaxation will be long lasting.

How many treatments do your clients typically come in for?

The answer depends on what why they have come in and what results they desire. Chronic pain and tension can take several sessions a week apart and then just maintaining the relaxation once a month. I'll be glad to discuss this with you.

Do you do a massage that is purely de-stressing?
Yes, you will melt right into a Hot Stone Treatment with Swedish Massage. It is deeply relaxing and soothing.
